AP Introduces First Day-First Show: Watch New Movies at Home

APSFL Chairman Gowtham Reddy recently announced the launch of the First Day-First Show program, which enables viewers to watch new movies from the comfort of their homes on the day of release. The program is scheduled to begin on June 2 in Visakhapatnam, and viewers can access the movies by subscribing to the service.

Reddy emphasized the mutual benefits for both film producers and audiences, as APSFL aims to provide the opportunity to watch new movies at home while following the traditional First Day-First Show format. The program will be inaugurated in Visakhapatnam by Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath, with the presence of actor R Sai and members of the producers council, C Kalyan and Rama Satyanarayana. The movie "Nirikshana" will be screened through APSFL as part of this program.

To enjoy new movies without relying on OTT platforms, subscribers can pay a subscription fee of Rs 99. Reddy highlighted the particular convenience this system offers to those residing in rural areas with strong APSFL connectivity, eliminating the need for them to travel to towns to watch movies in theaters.

Reddy assured theater owners, management, and actors that this initiative will not pose any difficulties for them. He stated that theater owners need not worry about reduced footfall, as the program is intended to complement theaters rather than replace them. Films will only be screened through APSFL when producers approach the organization.

APSFL has set a target of laying 55,000 km of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) to enhance connectivity between APSFL and the people of Andhra Pradesh. As of now, 37,000 km of cable laying has been completed, and fiber net connectivity has been provided to 7,600 out of 11,254 gram panchayats, according to Reddy's statement.
